Considering sludge production in the selection of coagulants
A combination of alum and a high‐molecular‐weight, weakly charged cationic polymer produced the most effective removals of TOC and turbidity, reduced the volume of sludge produced when compared with alum alone, and accomplished these objectives at reduced costs.
