Analysis of Footings on Elastic Foundations
This chapter deals with the analytical and numerical solutions of footings on elastic foundations. The footings are analyzed either as beams or plates on Winkler type soil media. General solutions and analytical solutions using the method of initial parameters are presented. Analytical solutions for rectangular and circular footings on elastic foundations are discussed. A few examples are also illustrated.
