A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Preparation of intact specimens and laboratory creation of specimens are presented. Storage, ejection of samples from tubes, and trimming of specimens are reviewed. Slurry consolidation of clay, air pluviation of sand, and several depositional techniques for silty sand are presented and compared. Several classical compaction methods are presented and the method of undercompaction is explained. Specimen installation in the triaxial cell is reviewed.
