CWSRF cut shuffles infrastructure funding deck
This article sums up a number of legislative actions that include: Congressional spending cuts to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (USEPA) clean and safe water programs that were made to lower the budget deficit; approval of $309.9 million in cost‐share grants for hundreds of “targeted” local projects in every state, called “pork” by critics; and, cuts to major federal funding for water and wastewater infrastructure. The article outlines signals that indicate continued bipartisan backing for some form of additional assistance for infrastructure projects despite a tight budget and cutbacks.
