A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
There are thousands of decisions to be made on even the smallest project, from deciding what the brief is and whether to go ahead, to choosing the shape and material of the smallest handle on an insignificant piece of furniture. Many of these decisions are urgent and they all must be made in the correct order so that the right result is achieved. People all tend to make decisions without thinking them through properly. The making of any really big decision should be carried out in a logical and methodical way. Construction professionals are often called upon to make big decisions. Many of the decisions one makes in order to answer the problems he/she faces will be minor ones, but are interwoven with other decisions so that the whole may appear impossibly complicated. Some decisions will affect other decisions, others will simply affect an isolated part of one's work.
