Pneumatic Application of Cement‐Mortar Tank Coatings
The city of Corpus Christi, Texas, has experienced considerable difficulty with both interior and exterior corrosion of its steel water tanks. After many years of experience with various types of interior coatings in several of the elevated tanks in the city, it was found that good protection at low initial and maintenance costs can be obtained by the application of a cement‐mortar coating below the high‐water line and a grease compound on all steel surfaces above the high‐water line. This article discusses the application of this practice in Corpus Christi.
