Wind Pressure Distribution and Drag Coefficients of Elliptical Buildings
Wind tunnel experiments of the elliptical cylinders at critical Reynolds number have been carried out to investigate aerodynamic characteristics of elliptical buildings. The analysis focused on the distributions of wind pressure and force coefficients, revealing typical patterns in the aerodynamic behavior. Notably, the pressure coefficient distribution of the rough elliptical model exhibited a symmetry‐asymmetry‐symmetry transition with increasing Reynolds number. Additionally, the lift and drag coefficients varied in response to changes in separation bubbles influenced by Reynolds number. These findings provide valuable insights that can be utilized as a reference for both fundamental research and practical engineering applications. Further exploration on the influences of roughness and wind incidence angle are needed.
