Steel Design Examples
This chapter presents several steel design examples. These include noncomposite rolled steel beam bridge, composite rolled steel beam bridge, and multiple‐span composite steel plate girder beam bridge. Noncomposite rolled steel beam bridge is noncomposite, does not have shear connectors. The chapter also summarizes the unfactored moments and shears at critical sections for interior girders. The shear range is computed by finding the difference in the positive and negative shears. The chapter also presents sample problems covering different bridge systems. Selected sample problems and references are included to reinforce the concepts presented and give the material a real‐world edge.
