Meeting Streamflow Requirements
As a result of the growing trend within the United States to protect and provide in‐stream flows, the states are adopting a variety of means to meet streamflow requirements. The most common methods are reservation of minimum streamflows, placing conditions on water use permits, and stream protection systems. In‐stream flows may also be required as conditions of project authorizations, licenses, and administrative decisions.
