Artificial Intelligence Helps JEA Optimize Water Resources
This article discusses a project to use artificial intelligence to manage the withdrawal of water from the Floridian Aquifer. The system, called “optimized system controls of aquifer resources” (OSCAR), controls the water system in real time, meaning the water system is continuously monitored for such parameters as flow and pressure. If the desired parameters are not being met, the system scheduler then makes adjustments. Adjustments can be made every minute of the day, 365 days a year, creating a “just‐in‐time” water supply.
