Short communication: Autoignition temperature of trichlorosilanes

Trichlorosilanes are important silicon intermediates used to manufacture silicone materials. Because they are produced and used in large quantities and some are very reactive, it is important to determine the autoignition temperature (AIT) of trichlorosilanes. This short communication reports the AIT of eight important trichlorosilanes and discusses the effect of substituted groups on the AIT. Copyright © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
