The topography of Feldkirch is shaped by hills, local mountains and the Ill gorge, therefore various districts are separated and all local, regional and international traffic in the tripoint of Austria, Liechtenstein and Switzerland passes through the inner‐city streets of L190 and L191a. The intention of this project is the long‐term relief of the historic center of Feldkirch and the surrounding settlement areas from transit traffic and to improve the overall quality of life of the local population through the reduction of traffic‐related pollution (air pollutants and noise).
Die Topografie der Stadt Feldkirch ist geprägt von Hügeln, innerörtlichen Bergen und der Illschlucht, sodass die einzelnen Ortsteile voneinander getrennt sind, was dazu führt, dass sich der gesamte lokale, regionale und auch internationale Verkehr im Dreiländereck Österreich, Liechtenstein, Schweiz auf die innerstädtischen Straßenzüge der L190 und L191a konzentriert. Mit dem Vorhaben werden insbesondere die Projektziele der nachhaltigen Entlastung der Feldkircher Altstadt und der Siedlungsgebiete vom Durchgangsverkehr, die Senkung der verkehrsbedingten Belastungen (Luftschadstoffe, Lärm) und die damit verbundene Verbesserung der Lebens‐ und Aufenthaltsqualität der anrainenden Bevölkerung verfolgt.
