Using pump curves and valving techniques for efficient pumping
Pump selection in single‐ and multiple‐pump installations involves the development of accurate system head curves, which represent the actual conditions under which the pump will operate. Variables in pump selection include the impeller diameter, pump speed, and parallel‐ and series‐pump operation. Regulation of capacity can also be affected by certain valving techniques.
