Elimination of Nematodes, Crenothrix, and Other Organisms
This article presents a study on eliminating nematodes, Crenothrix, and other organisms from the water wells and distribution system of Alexandria, Louisiana. The interior of the well was effectively treated with chlorine to eliminate the organisms, which included nematodes, annelids, and nuisance bacteria – iron, sulfur, sulfate‐reducing, and slime. The wells were cleared of organisms in the interior and the formation area adjacent to the well screens.
