Channel Gradients Above Gully-Control Structures
Regression techniques are used to determine some significant factors affecting the slope of the sediment deposition profile above gully-control structures and debris dams. Analyses of field data on gully-control structures in Wisconsin and debris dams in California show that the original channel slope, the width of the channel at the structure, and the height of the spillway crest above the original thalweg are statistically significant variables.
