The Recovery and Utilization of Construction Waste: Waste Concrete
In China, large amounts of construction wasteareproduced by the large-scale urban construction, the new rural construction and road construction currently, among which waste concrete is the largest. Waste concrete is permanent garbage that can not be broken down by environment itself through natural circulation. This makes the recycling of waste concrete a necessity, which is not only a good solution to the environmental problems caused by waste concrete, but also a good way to protect the mine gravel and other natural resources. This article puts forward the concept of recycled concrete by thinking of the contradictions of modern building materials. Subsequently, starting from the necessity of recycling waste concrete, it leads to the research progressing situation of the subject at home and abroad. Compared with some developed countries, it points out the problems of China and other countries in the study. Through the integration of existing qualitative description of the recycled concrete, it gives a relatively systematic and comprehensive overview of its performance. Afterwards, based on the available information and school laboratory facilities, we: (1) design and perform experiments; (2) gather and analyze data; (3) find the best ratio between recycled aggregate and natural aggregate; (4) make evaluation of their economic benefit, social benefit, environmental protection, and market prospects for application;and, at last (5) make recommendations for the development and use of recycled concrete.
