Peak Discharge for Highway Drainage Design
The use of stream-flow records for determining the size of highway drainage structures is a logical procedure. This paper shows that, by developing regional flood curves, the peak rate of runoff on a stream can be estimated for a given frequency—whether or not stream gaging records are available for that particular stream. A graph is included that can be used for estimating peak rates of runoff on small watersheds to a id in culvert design.
