Methods for Preventing Structural Cracks in Mass Concrete Pouring for Subway Construction
The construction of subways requires large volumes of concrete. In the process of pouring and curing mass concrete, cracks can easily form in the concrete and harm the structural integrity of the tunnels and stations. This paper analyses the causes of those cracks in the concrete, points out the resulting dangers, and introduces methods to prevent the formation of cracks. The paper concludes by recommending that concrete mix be poured in segments of 25-30 meters long at a time, and the structural template for concrete pouring should be less than 10 meters when doing the secondary lining in regional tunnel.
