Generalized Solution of Piles under Oblique Pull in Elasto-Plastic Soil
Response of individual piles to oblique pull is one of the most complex soil-structure interaction problem in the field of foundation Engineering. For the analysis, it is essential to take both elastic and plastic properties of soil, as both these properties occur along the embedded length of the pile. Herein, a generalized solution is presented for piles under oblique pulls taking into account the elasto-plastic nature of cohesionless soil. The flexural behavior of pile in an elasto-plastic soil is considerably influenced by the variation of plastic resistance, soil modulus variation and the boundary conditions at the top.
