Health and Recreation Resort Complex in Anykščiai / ; Sveikatos ir poilsio kurortinis kompleksas Anykščiuose.
The practical work develops in the town of Anykščiai. The regeneration of a predominant industrial area set close to the ARP (Anykščiai Regional Park) in the north of the town. The proposal aims to reintegrate this area through the development of a new urban development centre. This consists in three parts: first, the intent to reconnect the northern Lagedžiai area to the town through sport and leisure areas set close to the river, in the Pavarės woods. Secondly, a small group of shelter-homes are set close to the woods and are dedicated to eco-tourism. This setting creates a stronger relation with the Regional Park increasing activity in the area without damaging it. Finally, and core of the practical work, the health and recreation resort complex. A group of two buildings, along with the extension of the town limits aim to create an attraction point, related to health and recreation activities, that enables the development of the surrounding areas. The concept basis is on the interpretation of traditional architecture, simple and harmonious with the nature.
