SCHEME OF INSTALLING FIBERGLASS FITTINGS TO WOODEN GLUED BEAMS
The possibility of applying GRP as an alternative steel reinforcing material for increasing the strength of wooden glued beams is considered in the article. Stressed-deformed states of dovetailed girders with asymmetric and symmetrical arrangement of the reinforcement and the resulting maximum tensile stresses in the lower part of the beam are considered. The nonlinear character of the distribution of tangential stresses over the length of a symmetrically reinforced beam is revealed. An effective scheme for reinforcing the span of the beam rectilinearly is proposed, and in the support zones, the composite reinforcement should be bent at an angle to the wood fibers.
