The objective of this paper is to analyze alternative forms of labor organization in "peasant agriculture", in opposition to the dominant productivist type of farming. Using organized peasants in Western Franceas our reference, the text shows how, through the development of sustainable ecological agriculture, farmers use their activities to give new meaning to their lives.
