Ponding of rainwater on flexible roof systems
Results of analytic investigation of response characteristics of flexible beams and combinations of beams subjected to liquid loads are described; important dimensionless parameter is defined which becomes significant variable in such problems; effects of camber and sloped surfaces on response is evaluated; American Institute of Steel Construction criterion for rainwater ponding is examined critically and is shown to be incomplete; all results are presented in form of graphs; suggested design procedure is described.
