New pile code sets load-test criteria
New York City code bases permissible load on load tests; test must be made on at least one pile for each 15,000 sq ft of building area and on minimum of two piles for any project; maximum working load is load that causes net settlement of not more than 0.01 in. per ton of total test load; application of rolled structural steel piles and concrete piles; minimum spacing.
