Grouted gravel fill and precast slabs provide new face for Barker dam
Rehabilitation of disintegrated upstream face of 38-yr old, 175-ft high concrete structure in Boulder County, Colo, involved use of precast concrete slabs as forms in constructing protective blanket of concrete varying in thickness from about 3 ft at crest to about 8 ft at base; data on foundation grouting and drainage, prepakt concrete and precast slabs; conclusions gained from experience. (see also Am Concrete Inst -- J v 19 n 8 Apr 1948 p 633-67, discussion v 20 n 4 pt 2 Dec p 668 (7 p))
