Effect of such structures as breakwaters and jetties extending into Lake Erie which have had measurable effect on half mile or more of shore; most of large structures along Ohio shore have caused build-up of beaches on their updrift sides and accelerated erosion downdrift; effects are not balancing, since length of eroding shore is ordinarily five or more times length of shore which is protected by build-up.
