Low-cost submerged timber and rock crib construction that offers size and capacity, ice-free operation and minimal navigation obstruction; crib is constructed of 10×10-in. and 12×12-in. timbers bolted together in shape of cross at top; entire crib is surrounded with minimum of 6 ft of rip rap; crib is located in 15.5 ft of water at normal lake level; top of crib extends 5 ft 10 in. above lake bottom, and is 8 ft 2 in. below low water datum; intake crib was constructed on shore of native burr oak timber.
