Toughening of chromium-nickel stainless steels with aluminum and titanium during heat treatment
Changes in structure, phase composition and some properties as result of aging were investigated; samples were quenched in water from 950 C and subjected to 20 and 80% reduction by rolling; aging was carried out at 500 and 600 C after quenching, or after quenching and deformation; results of tests are given in graphs; toughening of studied alloys is due to α-component, which forms as result of martensitic transformation.
