Studies of blasting near buildings
Studies were conducted on buildings built on sandy clay and glacial till which had to be demolished and inundated for construction of St.Lawrence Power Project; comparative data are cited on effects of blasting on buildings founded on rock at Westerberg, Sweden; tables show relations of damage to measured vibration amplitudes; use of factor of acceleration or velocity as index of damage; it was concluded that velocity is independent of terrain; aspects of damage threshold and safety factor.
