Excavation for 212 ft high, concrete gravity Canyon Ferry Dam in Missouri River near Helena, Mont is being performed by dredging; dam will require 500,000 cu yd of concrete; Yuba dredge has 50 × 100 ft demountable steel pontoon hull, two 55 ft steel stern spuds, 30 in. × 110 ft stacker boom and 100 ton bucket line and ladder; bucket line carries 94 manganese steel buckets each of 6 1/2 cu yd capacity; dredge works down to 48 ft below water surface.
