Switching surge insulation strength of E.H.V. Line and station insulation structures
Results of switching surge tests are summarized, performed at Centro Elettrotecnico Sperimentale Italiano, Milan for ITE Circuit-Breaker Co on 550 and 765 kv isolating switches; tentative classification is made of different configurations of line-to-ground air spacings, according to their switching surge, dry, positive sparkover voltages, as compared with those of rod-rod and rod-plane gaps.
