Method employed to improve platform facilities on intensively used line in connection with lengthening of platform at London Transport's District Line Westminster Station is described; roof and walls of tunnel remained in position while station walls were built; wall on westbound side was constructed of reinforced concrete cast in bentonite using Soletanche process; pile settlement, jacking, and removing underpinning girders are outlined.
