Water surface profiles in gradually varied open-channel flow
Solution of differential equations of water surface in open channels of rectangular, triangular and trapezoidal cross section is presented; comparison of theoretical solutions performed by using step-by-step integration with measured profiles; new techniques are described, whereby formulas for channels for positive slope can be extended to cover case of adverse slopes.
