Eccentrically loaded steel columns with initial curvature
Behavior of eccentrically loaded wide-flange columns with initial curvature is studied; flange elements of column section are assumed to be thin in comparison with depth of section; moment-curvature relationship based on this assumption is derived for elastic-perfectly plastic material, and is subsequently extended to include effect of initial curvature; differential equation is solved by double integration and interaction curves are obtained with aid of suitable stability criterion; numerical examples are given.
