The principles of the manufacture of mastic asphalt
Great distinction between rock and mastic asphalt is that, while in former incorporation of bitumen and mineral base has been effected by nature, in latter it takes place mostly by human agency and as is not unusual, is not nearly so thorough; author illustrates building up of mastic-asphalt specifications and shows that it is admirable material for roofing and floors of factories and buildings and for lining of tanks, ducts, and channels in many chemical engineering problems.
