Flexural analysis of coplanar frames
Unified treatment of the displacement (stiffness, equilibrium) methods of elastic frame analysis, based on flexural assumptions; general equation is derived from kinematic and stiffness considerations, by use of virtual work principle, expressing equilibrium requirements of frame; based on this equation, numerical work is performed in mechanical, tabular form; relaxation solutions, physical interpretations, and relationship of proposed method to numerous special methods used are examined in connection with examples; matrix formulation is presented in appendix.
