Influence of foundation medium on flexural strength of reinforced concrete rafts and footings
Analysis of reinforced concrete foundations using distribution of contact pressures appropriate to soil type, its stiffness relative to substructure, depth of embedment and disposition of load on foundations; upper and lower bound solutions are given for simply supported orthotropically reinforced rectangular raft subject to any contact pressure paraboloid; methods of analysis for asymmetrical contact pressure distribution, elastoplastic behavior of foundation medium and redistribution of contact pressure due to structural yielding.
