Experience in accelerated teeming of steel
Study shows that improvement in quality of upper part of ingots is obtained by bottom pouring of steel at velocity at which top surface of metal in mold is free from crust; increase in teeming rate by 2 to 2.5 times as compared with normal practice improves macrostructure of upper part of ingots and decreases contamination of steel by non-metallic inclusions.
