Study of action of fire indicates that fire retardant and fire hazard classifications are essential in determination of their value in fire loss prevention; results of investigation carried out by engineers of Protection Dept of Underwriters' Laboratories, Inc, to develop test equipment and methods by which performances in tests may be given numerical ratings that are indicative of relative bearing upon fire hazard.
