Thermal balance in alumino-thermal smelting of ferrotitanium
Use of simplified method of calculating thermal balance in smelting of ferrotitanium has made it possible to identify main types of heat losses; this method involves determining specific heat of process according to relationship, established by V.A.BOGOLYUBOV, between specific heat and temperature; preliminary heating of furnace shaft contributes to more complete extraction of titanium and reduced aluminum consumption.
