Roof and two upper floors were raised on administrative block at Lidcombe, Sydney; square box section steel columns 9 in. × 9 in. were spaced at 17 ft 6 in. in one direction and 19 ft at other; columns protruded 1 in. above top of final position of roof slab; after jacks were removed protruding inch was burned off before placing of roof started.
