Crackle glaze based on perlite
Method for obtaining crackle glaze developed by ceramic laboratories of Tbilis Institution, based on perlite which is introduced both to earthenware body and to glaze; glaze was prepared from body which included 68% perlite, 20% borax, 6% zinc oxide and 6% whiting; after granulation 2% bentonitic clay was added to frit; articles were glazed by dipping and after drying were glost fired; after lowering temperature, ware was removed from kiln and immersed in water.
