Dynamics of frames with nonuniform elastic members
Fundamental and higher characteristic values and characteristic vectors of frameworks with elastic or rigid members are obtained by approximation of dynamic structural matrix; approximate method derived is based on direct iteration procedure and reduced dynamic matrix; dynamic structural matrix is composed of product of dynamic mass matrix and mass flexibility matrix which is formulated from structural configurations, and elastic properties of divided segments of constituent nonuniform members; computer program and numerical examples are provided of which eigenfunctions are tabulated and plotted.
