Causes of movement in reinforced concrete turboblocks and developments in turbo-block design and construction
Development of turbo-blocks against evolution of turbogenerators and associated plant, and problems which have emerged as result; investigation of 12 existing reinforced concrete turbo-blocks in 120 to 200 Mw range to establish extent and cause of differential movements in concrete and their resulting effects on machine; level measurements were taken over period of about three years on machine floors and basements of these blocks; these readings were correlated with changes in concrete temperature, moisture content and variations in ambient conditions.
