Second-order stress theory for partially embedded circular ring
Differential equations are derived for normal force, transverse force, and flexural moment acting on roof, side walls and floor of partially embedded tunnel, and solutions are given in tables; based on results, diagrams are established which enable determination of section forces and moments by simple calculation not requiring familiarity with above differential equations.
