Conversions of ethylene and n-butenes using amorphous and crystalline aluminosilicates containing nickel
Abstract 1. In the presence of amorphous and crystalline aluminosilicates containing Ni, ethylene dimerizes into n-butenes most selectively on a NiO-amorphous aluminosilicate catalyst. 2. n-Butenes either by themselves, or during formation from ethylene on the catalysts studied undergo double bond displacement, configuration isomerization, disproportionation in respect of carbon and hydrogen and oligomerization, these processes being the most intensive on zeolite catalysts. 3. The type of zeolite and process conditions have a marked effect on these conversions of olefins.
