A non destructive procedure to observe the microcracks of concrete by scanning electron microscopy
AbstractThe study of microcracks in concrete is very important to understand its behaviour under loading and to improve this material. The direct observation in a scanning microscope is not a suitable method because the concrete is subject to drying shrinkage. Another indirect and non destructive method of observation by SEM is proposed. With this method using a single replica the microcracks of concrete can be observed better than 0.5 μm.
