An elongate cover for closing the opening or channel of a purlin including a main central planar body portion and an angularly inclined wing at either side of the central 5 body portion forming a pair of engagers for contacting the edges of the opening or channel to close the opening to prevent animals, particularly birds, from gaining access to the channel through the opening to rest or next. The cover is provided with multiple retainers to maintain the cover in the closed position. Some of the retainers are merely resiliently deformable to allow part of the cover to slip into the opening along one edge io whereas others of the retainers are more or less substantially permanently deformed to retain their deformed shape to maintain the other edge of the cover in contact with the other edge of the opening. The advantage of the cover is that the cover closes almost entirely the opening in the purlin to prevent access by animals into the inside of the purlin thereby preventing the animals from resting or nesting there. 6742855_1 (GHMatters) P100531.AU WENDYS
