Abstract A support structure for retaining a temporary construction against a wall of a building. It comprises: 5 - an elongate first structural member having a lower end affixed by a first connection to the foot of the wall; - a bearing pad affixed to the first structural member and abutting the wall; - a second structural member having a proximal end fastened to the first structural member by a second connection and extending laterally away from 10 the wall to a distal end; - an upstanding third structural member which: - is attached by a third connection to the distal end; and - extends downwards from the third connection to bear down onto the ground; and 15 - a mechanism whereby the distal end is urged upwards so causing the bearing pad to be pressed more firmly onto the wall. as7 48 as
