A collapsible mast comprising; a first vertical component, a first mast component, a second vertical component, a first actuator and a first locking mechanism, wherein the first mast component is pivotably attached between a second end of the first vertical component and the second vertical component, wherein the first locking mechanism is connected between the first vertical component and the first mast component; wherein the first actuator is connected between the first vertical component and the first locking mechanism, so that extension of the first actuator moves the first mast component from a stowed configuration to an extended configuration; and wherein, when in the extended configuration, the first locking mechanism retains the first mast component in the extended configuration.
